I am excited to share my first collaboration with Tara from my_styledlife! Please enjoy this post about black and white outfits and keeping it simple!
Let’s get down to business. Everyone is busy in today’s world and although I would LOVE to have a personal hair, make up and shopping helper by my side 24/7, it’s not going to happen any time soon. I don’t want to wake up at the crack of dawn to put together a runway ready outfit that looks like I just stepped out of shooting The Devil Wears Prada. I need quick, go-to outfits that look amazing, are comfortable, budget friendly and make me look better then any model at New York Fashion Week! Welcome to my go-to guide for just that!
Let’s simplify and keep it classy
Black and white are your two new best friends. These shades are classics and should be staple to any wardrobe. White denim is totally in this season and can be paired with 99% of the clothing on the racks. I love white denim because it’s perfect for a casual weekend party if paired with flats but can be dressed up for a night out on the town with a blouse and heels. Tip: Always wear nude under garments with white. White on white will actually show through and in the bright sun will not be favorable. I’m speaking from experience.
Black and white patterns
I love patterns of all kinds and can’t get enough of them. This season you can find florals, chevron and even tucans on many pieces of apparel. If you are a bit hesitant to try a pattern because you tend to steer towards solid colours, start with black and white. This black and white bird dress was a great find from H & M a few years back but is still one of my top go-to’s for a work function or semi-formal event. Stick with lighter materials such as chiffon or a polyester blend as they are more flattering and give a feminine look. Pair it with a solid coloured heel and you are ready for the runway – even if it’s in your own home!
Give me all the details!
A classic piece every woman should own is a little black dress (LBD). This is your #1 choice for feeling sexy and fierce. The LBD that I’m wearing is a wrap dress with ruffles and can be paired with endless amounts of accessories and shoe options. I love pairing this dress with wedges for a casual office look and then switching to heels for an evening out. If you are a fan of jewelry, stick to one main piece per outfit.
Simplicity is key
Black and white are classic shades that can be worn endless ways keeping a professional and chic style. It’s simple to mix these shades together for an effortless look and even better, when you know what’s in your closet, you’ll start to organize it!
